CALL TO ORDER & OPENING PRAYER
The 82nd
stated meeting of Gulf Coast Presbytery was called to order by the moderator, RE
William M. “Bill” Harris, IV at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8th,
at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
The meeting was opened with prayer and a hymn lead by host pastor, Bill
Tyson. Moderator Harris then
preached the sermon based on Isaiah 6:1-8.
TE Tyson then lead the Presbytery in the celebration of the Sacrament of
the Lord’s Supper.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT – TE R. HORNICK, STATED CLERK
TE
R. Hornick presented the report to presbytery. Presbytery adopted the following
recommendations:

That TE Wesley Channel sign the Book of Obligations.
·
That TE Joe Grider be elected Recording Clerk of Presbytery.
·
That RE Lynn Kirkland be elected to the MNA Committee of
Presbytery.
·
That the following appointees be approved to serve on the
respective General Assembly Committees:

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION – TE R. FENNIG, CHAIRMAN
TE
R. Fennig presented the report to presbytery.

Chairman Fennig gave the
highlights of the Annual PresWIC report (See Appendix “A” at the end
of this report)
The
report was approved a whole.

MISSION TO NORTH AMERICA - RE C. FELLERS, CHAIRMAN
RE
C. Fellers presented the report to presbytery. Presbytery adopted the following
recommendations:

That we follow-up on our
commitment made at our last Presbytery meeting:
That
Gulf Coast Presbytery unites around a common mission to glorify god by reaching
the Gulf Coast with the gospel through planting churches (with both prayer and
financial support).
(See
Appendix “B” for the full Committee’s report).
Prayer
was offered for church planting efforts in the Presbyter and the report was
approved as a whole.

ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE REPORT
RE
V. Kane presented the Administrative Committee report to the presbytery.
The
Treasurer’s Report was received as information.
The
Report of the Administration Committee was approved.

Presbytery
divided into small groups for the sharing of prayer requests and conversational
prayer.

PRESBYTERY RECONVENED
The
Moderator called presbytery to order following lunch and led in prayer
reconvening presbytery at 12:50 p.m.
00-14 MINISTERS & CANDIDATES –
TE B. EVANS, CHAIRMAN
TE
B. Evans led in prayer and presented the report to presbytery. The following
recommendations were adopted by presbytery:

That Licensure for Sid Phillips be
extended for the another year.
The
report was approved a whole.

MISSION TO THE WORLD – TE D. MILLER, CHAIRMAN
TE D. Miller
presented an oral report to presbytery and informed the Presbytery of the need
to elect and new chairman. After
discussion the following motion was and adopted:

That TE Dewey Roberts be elected
as the new chairman of the Presbytery’s Mission to the World Committee.
The
report was approved a whole and Mr. Miller closed the report with prayer for
world missions.

STANDING COMMITTEES
Presbytery adopted
the following report of the Resolution and Thanks Committee:
Whereas the
generous congregation of Westminster PCA has invited us to advance the cause of
Christ through our Presbytery,
and whereas the
meal and accommodations were fit for children of King,
be it therefore
resolved, that the Presbytery thanks the elders, congregation and all who served
us for their wonderful hospitality in hosting the Gulf Coast Presbytery on
February 8, 2000.
